Brother Thomas A. Lang, Jr. 

When the Theta Phi Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc was searching for the person whose name would appear over the Chapter’s community center, one name stood above all others, Brother Thomas A. Lang Jr. 

Thomas Anthony Lang, Jr. crossed the burning sands at Mu Psi Chapter, North Carolina A&T State University, Greensboro, NC, on the Spring Line of 1946. Brother Lang’s line name was “Little Stump.” 

Mr. Lang forged a path for other Omega Men to follow through a period in history that few Fraternity Brothers can only read about. 

He obtained his Bachelor’s degree at North Carolina A&T State University and his Master’s degree at Florida A&M University in Industrial and Technical Education. Brother Lang was an inventor, educator, and mentor. He worked in the Duval County School System for a total of 49 years. Working at William Raines High School as a teacher and Assistant Principal then as Principal of Jefferson Davis Junior High School. 

Brother Thomas A. Lang, Jr. touched the lives of many students in Jacksonville and mentored countless Omega Men.

 It is with great pride that the members of the Theta Phi Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. name the Chapter’s center The Thomas A. Lang, Jr. Community Center.
